INDIGENOUS WHOLISTIC HEALTH & WELLNESS
The Indigenous Physical Activity and Cultural Circle, the Indigenous Health and Physical Activity program, the Indigenous Studies in Kinesiology program, the Health & Fitness Federation of Canada, the Health & Fitness Society of BC, and the Canadian Health and Fitness Institute are proud to partner on a Satellite meeting dedicated to wholistic Indigenous health and wellness.
We would like to extend a warm invitation to attend and participate in the virtual Pre-Congress Event taking place on October 8th 2021. The event will take place from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm PST, streaming from beautiful Vancouver, BC. This Pre-Congress Event will be centred around the theme of “Indigenous Health and Wholistic Lifestyle Behaviours”.
The Pre-Congress satellite event will feature a series of panel presentations that will include topics such as Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and High-Performance Sport, Traditional Health and Wellness and Being Active, and Inuit Winter Games and Métis Traditional Dance. This event includes the sharing of traditional stories and experiences surrounding Indigenous wholistic health and wellness by key Indigenous leaders, community members, scholars, and representatives”.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have focussed on achieving an interactive space to respectfully share knowledge through a virtual platform, ensuring to follow updated public health safety measures. This style of event will ensure to offer our guests and speakers the opportunity to come together from all corners of the world.
